ELIOT, Maine - Jared Ray Lehman, 38 of Beech Road in Eliot, died on October 31, 2012 in South Portland, Maine. Jared was born in Hollywood, Florida on July 23, 1974. He was raised in Eliot by his parents Rachel (Caron) and Peter Kelsey. He attended local schools, graduating from Marshwood High School where he attended Sanford Regional Vocational School for two years studying building trades.

As a youngster he enjoyed time spent playing little league and Eliot All Star's he had a deep love of the out of doors, enjoying both salt and fresh water fishing with his dad, snowmobiling and cross country skiing in the winter and he enjoyed the serenity of the mountains anytime of the year. At home he grew a well cared for vegetable garden, and always enjoyed watching a Patriots game.
After high school he worked at Warrens Restaurant and the Quarter Deck in Kittery, before setting out on his own operating his own carpentry business specializing in finish carpentry and cabinets.
He is survived by his mother, Rachel Kelsey of Eliot, brother, Joel Lehman of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., sister, Carol Howard of Eliot, sister, Joni Fallon and her husband Doug of Eliot, four nieces and one nephew. He was predeceased by his father, Peter Kelsey.
A memorial service followed by a time of sharing and refreshment will be celebrated on Wednesday November 7, 2012 beginning at 1 p.m. in the Eliot Baptist Church on Route 236 in Eliot. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Eliot Baptist Church. Care for Jared's family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
