Jeannette D. Girard
SANFORD - Jeannette D. Girard, 100, of Sanford, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at the Newton Center in Sanford.
She was born in Trois Pistoles, Canada, on Aug. 31, 1912, a daughter of the late Joseph and Apauline (Parent) Dumont.
For many years, she was employed in the local textile mills and was a communicant of the former St. Ignatius Parish.
She is predeceased by her siblings, Evelyn Frevele, Lillian Couture, Louise Vallee, Yvonne Dumont, Marian Dumont, Arsene Dumont, Louis Dumont, Paul Dumont, Maurice Dumont, Andre Dumont, George Dumont, Joseph Dumont, Omer Dumont, Conrad Dumont and Raymond Dumont.
She is survived by one sister, Simone Fortier, of Sanford, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church. Beforehand, relatives and friends visited at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home in Sanford.
Burial will be in the spring at St. Ignatius Cemetery.
