DOVER - June (Davies) McLaughlin of 5 Brookmoor Road, Dover New Hampshire 03820, 88, died at Massachusetts General Hospital after a sudden illness on Saturday, May 25, 2013.
She was born in Olean, New York, on June 17, 1924, to Rosemond and Morgan Davies.
June was married to Frank McLaughlin on March 6, 1943 in Fort Mammoth New Jersey. A graduate of Olean High School, she worked at Seigel's dress store and ran her own ceramic shop. June was a presiding sponsor for Olean Starlight Constellation of Junior Stars for 13 years. A Matron of Electra Chapter #84, a Grand Representative of New Hampshire, and Olean Court #19 order of Amaranth.
June is survived by her husband, Frank McLaughlin of Dover, N.H., two daughters, Linda Berget of Palmer, Alaska, and Ruth DiCicco of Dover, N.H., her grandchildren, Jeff Lane and his wife, Angela (Vinciguerra) Lane of Rye, Jennifer (Lane) Leary her husband, Ryan Leary of Dover, N.H., Wendy (Long) Shamburger, her husband Robert Shamburger of Anchorage, Alaska, 9 great-grandchildren, Reilly and Reagan Leary, Morgan and Eryn Lane, Amy, Emma and Robert Shamburger and Zachary and Dominic DiCicco, and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents Rosemond and Morgan Davies, three brothers, Morgan, Jerald and Robert Davies. One sister, Olive (Davies) Baker. granddaughters, Nicole Long and Catherine and Michelle Lane.
June was a lifelong member of Christ United Methodist Church of Olean, N.Y., and a 5-year member of St. John's Methodist Church of Dover, N.H.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, May 29, at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave, Dover from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 3 p.m., Rev. Mark Munson Alley officiating.
