CENTER BARNSTEAD—Leo W. Ellis Sr., 53, of Center Barnstead, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, August 21, 2012.

He was the son of the Dorothy M. Ellis, of Randolph, Mass. and the late John P Ellis 'Banka'. Leo, was born in Boston, Mass. and later moved to Rochester. Leo proudly served in the United States Navy and later was employed by the United States Postal Service and it was a career that allowed him to converse and care for his customers along his assigned routes. It was not unusual to see him shoveling a doorstep or taking the time to say hello.

Leo was an avid outdoor sportsmen and those that knew him observed the deep appreciation that he had for the outdoors. His walks in the woods with his dogs, where he was surrounded by nature, brought him much joy, comfort and peace within. Hunting and fishing were two of his favorite hobbies.

Leo is survived by his loving wife, Vicky L. Ellis; a daughter, Pamela Ellis of Rochester; two sons, Leo W. Ellis Jr. of Barnstead, and Daniel Ellis of Farmington. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Avery Mae, Skyla, RyLee, and Qwynn. He also leaves behind his brother Peter; and sisters Justine, Rachel, Christine and Mary; as well as many nieces and nephews.
