FREEDOM — Born on February 25, 1939, Linda (Swan) Meserve left her mortal body on Thursday, August 9, 2012, surrounded by her loving family; she had been blessed by calls, cards and visits from many friends and family members.

To nearly every visitor she received last week, Linda said with authority, "I know where I am, and I know where I'm going!". On her last day, she told David Meserve, her husband of 50 years, "I love you," and encouraged her children, Mary, Michael and Matthew with words of love, thanks, praise and with smiles.

With a heart more concerned for others than she was herself, Linda volunteered as a 4-H Club leader, a Sunday School teacher and superintendent, a March of Dimes organizer, church choir member, and hospice volunteer. Less than two weeks before her passing, she was still lovingly tending her flower filled window boxes in front of the Freedom Post Office.

Linda, a truly beautiful woman, lived a life full of joy, grace, love, and compassion. Her presence here on earth will be missed, yet heaven has gained a remarkable soul.

Linda is survived by her husband, David Meserve of Freedom; twin brother, David Swan of Acton, Maine; daughter Mary (Winslow) of Barnstead; two sons, Michael Meserve of Makaha, H.I. and Matthew Meserve of Springfield, Vt.; twelve grandchildren, Brittany (Thorn), Gabriel, Madelyn, Grace, Edward, Elisha, Jonathan, Nicole, Maggie, Maxwell, McCoy, and Rosalinda; and great granddaughter Marlena. She also leaves behind a host of friends and relations, all of whom found her life to be an inspiration.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Lord Funeral Home in Center Ossipee, N.H. A service in celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the First Christian Church of Freedom; a private committal service for family will be held at the Lakeview Cemetery in Freedom. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations in Linda's name to the First Christian Church of Freedom. Condolences may be sent to the Meserve Family, 19 Elm Street, Unit 1, Freedom, N.H., 03836, or you may go to www.lordfuneralhome.
