OSSIPEE - Louise Wenant, 93, passed away peacefully on Feb. 17 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Louise was born in October 1919 in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Edward and Marion Driscoll. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard, and her daughter, Dianne Jenkins.
Louise lived in Ossipee for the past 40 years where she and Leonard operated an antique store, The Stuff Shop. Previously, they lived in Lee, and operated the Lee Village Store. Louise had a passion for gardening and bird watching, as well as baking the best English muffins around! She will be remembered for her contagious smile, sense of humor, inquisitive nature, and her love of animals, including her cat, Sam.
Members of her family include her son Dana, Key West, Fla.; daughters, Jan Creps and her husband Lee, Freedom, Jean Herrick and her husband Chad, Amesbury, Mass., Christine Heifetz and her husband, Steven, Concord, N.H.; grandchildren, Julie Sauer and her husband, Sam, Pensacola, Fla., Rebecca Sanderson and her husband Allen, Salt Lake City, Utah, Matthew Creps, Dover, Erik Creps and his wife, Stephanie, Somersworth, Zachary Creps, Dover, Abigail Avery and her husband, Devin, Barrington, Tyler Creps, Dover, Allison Herrick, West Medford, Mass., Bradley Herrick, Amesbury, Mass., and Ben Heifetz, Concord; and great-grandchildren, Emily and Megan Sauer, Pensacola, Fla.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later time.
Those who wish are invited to make memorial donations in her name to Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 22 Fox Run Road, Newington, NH.
