HAMPTON - Marie O. Carpenter, 87, of Hampton, formerly of Somersworth, died Saturday, October 5, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born at home in Somersworth, April 17, 1926, a daughter of the late Joseph and Delvina (Beaupre) Ouellette.
Marie was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Hampton and previously of Holy Trinity Parish in Somersworth. She graduated from Somersworth High School and McIntosh Business School in Dover. Marie was a devoted caregiver for her extended family, always willing to fill the void left by others. She supported several charitable works, giving generously in Christian spirit.
Family members include her children, Stephen Carpenter and his wife Annie of Sterling, Va.; her daughter Susan Schutz and her husband George of Newbury; and her son Peter Carpenter and his wife Denise of Hampton; her seven grandchildren, Mem, Scott, Corey, Emery, Katie, Cameron and Connor, her great grandson Jaxon and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by her husband of over 62 years, F. Paul Carpenter, her brother Richard Ouellette and her sister Pauline Montroy.
Visiting hours will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home – Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the visitation starting at noon at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private.
