Born on May 31, 1942, in Dover, "Dolly", as she was also affectionately referred to by some family members, was the daughter of Wilfred Grondin and Alice (Demers) (Grondin) Carignan.
Mary worked for the Elliot Rose Company as a flower grader for many years then at Weiss-Lawrence Shoe Manufacturing Company in Dover. Eventually, Mary was co-owner, with her husband Maurice, of the business end of the Strand Theatre on Third St., Dover. That led to the formation of Theatre Video, with locations in Dover and Rochester. She also cared for her family as Maurice proudly served our country.
Mary, "Dolly," loved spending her summers at Grand View Campground in Rochester; enjoying time with family, her camping friends and her cat, Cuddles. She also enjoyed going to the movies, learning to play the piano and just loved the beauty of butterflies, particularly, the Monarch.
Mary was predeceased by her son Barry Cote, her parents, a brother, Roland Grondin, and a sister, Jean Perron.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Maurice Cote, of South Berwick, three children, Brian Cote, and his wife Marylin of South Berwick, Blain Cote and his wife, Kathleen, of North Berwick, Bette Wetherington and her husband, Bill, of Somersworth, two brothers Richard Grondin and his wife Debbie of Wakefield, Mass., David Carignan of Dover, and eight grandchildren, Christopher Burkinshaw, Emily Hennessey, Jimmy Talon, Evan Cote, Nicholas Cote, Eric Cote, Elizabeth Cote, Elisha Cote, an aunt, many cousins and several nieces and nephews.
