Maxine E. Burke

DOVER - Maxine E. Burke, 97, died Sept. 17, 2013 at Hyder House after a period of failing health. She was born on March 24, 1916 to Elisabeth (Warren) and Charles Hilbourne in South Berwick, Maine. She graduated from Dover High School in 1933 and was a lifelong resident of Dover until 2008. She was cared for by her granddaughter, Kim and family in Albany, for past 2- ½ years.

Maxine married Edward Burke in 1941 and they were blessed with sons, Richard and Thomas. She leaves behind her son Thomas and wife, Arlene, daughter-in-law, Pricilla, five grandchildren, Kim Guptill (Russell), Karen Burke-Troon (Jamie), William Burke (Diane), Carrie Burke, Daniel Burke (Michele); Great grandchildren, Jennifer Burke-Guptill, Monica Guptill, Karissa Couture, Nathan, Jared, Calvin and Aidan Burke, and one great great grandchild, Isybella Couture. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Burke and son, Richard Burke.

The family would like to thank Hyder House in Dover for their gentle loving care.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
