UNION - Monique P. Smith, age 76, of Main Street in Union, died February 27, 2013, after a motor vehicle accident in Milton.
Born November 6, 1936 in France, the daughter of Lucien Robert and Julie (Drouet) Frerebeau, she was raised and lived there for 23 years prior to her marriage and had resided in Union since 1960.
Prior to retirement, she was employed at Thompson Center Arms for over 20 years.
Monique was a member of the Woman's Fellowship at the Union Congregational Church and a member of the Club Unite Francaise in Rochester. A collector of ornamental birds, she enjoyed her flower garden and especially enjoyed time with her family.
Survived by her husband of 53 years: Edmund L. Smith, Jr. "Buddy" and their five children: Jerry P. Smith of Henniker, Dominique A. Rust of Hooksett, Marc H. Smith of Union, Michelle E. Rogers of Effingham and Juliette L. Smith of Union; seven grandchildren: Jacob Dodge, Kyle Rogers, Nicole Rust, Alexander Rust, Kadie Charron, Megan Murdough and Emilee Dodge; several siblings in France, also many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Sunday afternoon from 2-5 p.m. at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, N.H. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Union Congregational Church on Main Street in Union, N.H. with Pastor Dave Maleham, officiating. Interment will be in the spring.
