SANFORD, Maine - Nina Koch (née Edwina Catherine Payeski), 79, of Sanford, Maine, died on July 23, 2013, in Portland, Maine. She was born on June 7, 1934 in Winchester, New Hampshire to Edmond Payeski and Hazel Butler. After a tour in the Air Force in the 1950's, she worked for years as a military court reporter. Later, after earning her Bachelor's and Master's degrees, she taught psychology for Hawthorne College. When she retired, she was finally able to devote herself to her lifelong love of researching British history. She is survived by her three daughters: Kathleen Koch of Berkeley, California; Kristina Doucette, and her husband Alan, of North Berwick, Maine; and Karen Senecal of Dover, New Hampshire. She had five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters, with a third on the way.
