DOVER — Patricia E. (Pease) Aveni, 66, of Stark Ave. Dover, died at St. Anne's Nursing Home and Rehab surrounded by her husband and friends on September 25, 2012 following a 16-month battle with brain cancer.

Born in Gardner Mass. On February 2, 1946 the only child of Paul and Berthe Pease. She graduated from Narraganset Regional High School, Templeton Mass., in 1964, Green Mountain College, Poultney Vt. in 1966, and Clark University, Worcester, Mass. in 1968. She obtained a Master's degree in Library Science from Vanderbilt University, Nashville Tenn. in 1991.
Patti opened the Dover Doll Clinic<B> </B>in Dover, which she operated for over 20 years. She enjoyed collecting, repairing and restoring all types of antique dolls, Teddy Bears and other collectibles. Patti's greatest pleasure was seeing the happy faces of the children when they received their restored dolls. Patti was a Charter Member of the San-D-Over Doll Club, which holds annual doll shows in Dover to raise funds for various scholarships.
Patti was well known for her ability to fix anything related to dolls. She had appeared on segments of several TV shows, including N.H. Crossroads, N.H. Chronicle, Maine Public TV and on a live news show on WMUR-TV. Patti made numerous doll presentations at Civic Clubs and school classrooms. She loved to sell dolls throughout New England, New Jersey and Florida.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years Vincent Aveni, aunts, uncles and cousins. Patti often thought of her cousin Bruce Clemons as the brother she never had.
Patti's family thanks her medical teams from the Seacoast Cancer Center in Dover, the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston Mass., Wentworth Home Care and Hospice, St. Ann's Nursing Home and her friends who provided her with care and kindness.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church 25 Third St. Dover N.H. on Tuesday October 2, 2012 at 2 p.m. Another Funeral Mass will be held in St. Vincent DePaul Church 1 Forest St. Baldwinville, Mass. on Thursday October 4, 2012 at 1 p.m.
