Philip Clayton Hurd

FARMINGTON - Philip Clayton Hurd, 62 years old, passed away at his home in Farmington on Sunday, December 22 after suffering a long illness. He was born in Biloxi, Mississippi to the late Clayton and Margie Hurd on October 5, 1951. After moving to Dover when Phil was under a year old he spent the majority of his life in the Dover and Rochester area. Phil graduated from Dover High School in 1969. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the Marines. Phil work most of his adult life as the Operations Manager of JCPenney in Rochester. Phil loved to go out to restaurants and movies. His favorite place to visit was Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife Linda, his step daughter Andrea Nelson and his step grandson Connor Hastings of Berwick, Maine, his uncle Bill and Nancy Lawrence of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, his aunt Pat Boutin of East Rochester, many cousins, and his beloved dog Roxy. Phil was known for his easy going manner and great sense of humor. He was a very private man with a great sense of integrity and honor.

He requested no formal service or viewing. There will be a small family gathering in his home in Farmington on Saturday, January 4th, 11-2.
