Rachel Aube Obituary

ROCHESTER — Rachel Alice Aube was born on Dec. 3, 2010, at 10:27 a.m., to parents, Matthew and Stacy Aube, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. She weighed 3 lbs., 7 oz. and was 151⁄2 inches long.

Although we knew Rachel's life here with us would be short, we were blessed deeply by the time we had with her while she danced in Mama's womb and made Daddy smile with her kicks and turns. We waited for her birth with hopeful expectation and were honored to hold her close as she passed from our arms into the arms of Jesus after 43 beautiful and unforgettable minutes. Her life has drawn us even closer to our Lord and we find great comfort in knowing she is with Him now and we will eventually join her there in heaven some day.

Rachel was a beautiful, sweet baby girl who touched so many lives in such a short time. She is a little sister to Desirae, Isaiah and Samuel and will always hold a special place in their hearts. Rachel is loved by many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and church family.

We are very grateful and humbled by the countless acts of service and endless emotional support we have received from Rachel's nana, Rachel Paluch; her auntie, Meagan Macomber, and our brothers and sisters in Christ. Words cannot express the blessing you have been as we have walked this journey of grief and joy. A special thank you to Autumn Green Funeral Home and Edgerly Funeral Home for your compassion and support in our time of need, as well as Kelly Roy from Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep for capturing our memories with photos.

Services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 9, at Grace Community Church, 159 Rochester Hill Road, Rochester. Visitation will be at 9 a.m., with a memorial service at 10 a.m. and a short committal ceremony and reception to follow.

We will be building a playground in memory of our precious Rachel.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to her memorial playground fund. Checks can be made payable to Grace Community Church with "Rachel Alice" in the memo line and mailed to Grace at the address above. A friend posted a link to your page on facebook and so I started reading your blog today. Tears streamed down my face as I read you asking God why. I have been asking him the same thing since November 2009 when I lost my Angyl. My heart goes out to your and your family as you try to get through this. No words can help, only time will make this pain ease. Just remember she is in a good place and she will always be with you even if you can't see her.

My thoughts are with you and have been with you as you traveled this gravel and bumpy road. Knowing your precious Rachel is now in the hands of the lord, passed from you to him, where the light is so bright but never hurts your eyes, where the roads are smooth, and no bumps, where your angel now looks over you and your family. I read your blog, laughed and cried, felt she was part of my family, so I hope she is looking over my family too.

To Rachel's loving family,

Amazing is the word that comes to mind of Rachel's life. Although I didn't know your family well as I just joined the Grace Church Family in early August I have been inspired by your family's commitment to Jesus and the celebration of Rachel's life and death in handing her back to her Creator. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and I know that the Lord has lead you to this and will also lead you through this.

Love and Prayer,
