EAST ROCHESTER - Richard Mercado, 49, of Main Street, died Sunday Feb. 10, 2013, at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover after several years of a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, with his daughters by his side.
Born in Kittery, Maine, July 11, 1963, the son of Gabriel Mercado and Virginia (Semple) Mercado. He grew up in Somersworth and attended Somersworth schools. He loved being with his grandchildren. He was loved by his daughters and they will greatly miss him and they will continue the "tractor rides." Paco was a 15-year employee of General Electric Co. and then went to work at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and retired due to health reasons.
He is survived by his daughters, Brittney Mercado and husband Jon Lacount and Mollie Boisvert and husband James Boisvert; his grandchildren, Jak Winden and Jyll Mercado-Boisvert; his wife, Kellie Hardy all of East Rochester; his mother, Virginia Comeau of Berwick, Maine; his father, Gabriel Mercado of Biddeford, Maine; a brother, Jeffrey Mercado and his children Kyler, Kourtney and Brendan of Somersworth; his sister, Tammy Mercado and husband Stephen Warnke of Anchorage, Alaska; and his stepfather Herbie Comeau. He was predeceased by his grandparents Richard and Eunice Croteau.
Friends are invited to call Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish, Holy Trinity Church, High St., Somersworth. Memorials in his name may be made to Seacoast Cancer Center, 789 Central Ave., Dover, N.H. 03820.
