Robert H. Meserve
DOVER - Robert H. Meserve, 61, husband of Piper (Paige) Meserve, died Thursday June 27, 2013 at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.
Born in Dover April 30, 1952 the son of Robert G. and Arlene (McConnell) Meserve. He was a graduate of Dover High School where he played football as a kicker, full back, line backer and quarterback and was a member of the 1968 State Championship team, he also played high school baseball and basketball.
Bob played sports all of his life and loved attending sports events especially his children's games as well as his nieces and nephews games. He had coached baseball at Dover South in 1974, played in the Men's Softball league for many years and bowled at Dover Bowl. He sponsored a family running team, M3 Running, and a softball team in the Rochester Men's League.
He worked for the Dover Housing Authority in the maintenance department for a time and 25-years ago he founded Bob Meserve Maintenance. He loved his job and his customers. He enjoyed having his three children, nieces and nephews working with him. He instilled a good work ethic in them and taught them many valuable lessons.
In addition to Piper, his wife of 36-years he is survived by three children Adam Meserve of Dover, Erin Meserve of Dover and Jake Meserve of Rochester, his father Robert G. Meserve of Dover, his siblings Roseann Meserve of Dover, Michael Meserve and wife Kathy of North Hampton, William Meserve of Newfields, Maureen Lord and husband Ron of Hampton, Patricia Gauvin and husband Ron of Navarre Beach, Fla., Michelle Mitropoulos and husband Peter of Lebanon, Maine, Peter Meserve and wife Tara of North Hampton and Maryann Gould and husband Brad of Rochester, 33 nieces and nephews, 17 great nieces and nephews, and many in-laws.
He was predeceased by his mother Arlene Meserve in 2006, his grandmother Eva Rose McConnell in 1991 and his brother-in-law Peter Paige in 2012.
Friends are invited to call Monday July 1st from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave. followed by a service at 7:30 p.m.
