DOVER — Roland J. Labrecque Jr., 67, of Long Hill Road, died Friday, March 25, 2011, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.

Born in Dover December 8, 1943, the son of Roland J. and Florence (Torrey) Labrecque and attended Dover Schools and has lived here all of his lifetime.

He was an avid race fan, having built race cars for family and never missed going to races even when he was sick.

Prior to his retirement, he was a 22-year employee of the city of Dover Public Works Department, where he was a maintenance man.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra (DeMeritt) Labrecque; two sons, Jeffrey J. Labrecque of Rochester and Mark J. Labrecque of Barrington; two grandchildren; a sister, Donna Drouin, of Dover; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Shermayne Marie; a brother, Richard Labrecque; and a sister, Helen Labrecque.

Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., where funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. with Rev. Marc Gagne, pastor of the Parish of the Assumption, officiating. Burial will be later in Pine Hill Cemetery.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the Cardiac Unit at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital for the wonderful care they gave Roland.
