KITTERY POINT, Maine - Rose M. Lynch died peacefully in her Gerrish Island home on Thursday, November 22, 2012.

She was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 4 1935 to the late Joseph and Mary (Davila) Gomez. Rose was a long time resident of Kittery Point where she and her late husband, Daniel O. Lynch, raised their two children. She was an active member of the Kittery Point Baptist Church where she served in many capacities from Sunday school teacher to helping with the Meals On Wheels program. She volunteered much of her time helping elderly residents in her neighborhood. She enjoyed baking and cooking, and made many elaborately decorated cakes for weddings, anniversaries, and birthdays for friends and family in the community. Other hobbies and activities included, sewing, playing the piano, making crafts (lots of crafts!) and traveling. She and her long time companion, Winston Smith, once made a whirl wind tour of the United States, visiting all the lower 48 states. Rose also traveled to Europe with her granddaughter, Jill. Together they traveled to England and France and visited Rose's daughter living in Paris at the time. Rose's door was always open to family and friends. She enjoyed treating them to her homemade Authentic Mexican food, which she would lovingly prepare while often singing Christian hymns in the kitchen.

She was a creative, gentle, loving person. She cherished her time with family and loved being called Grammy Rose by all. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to thank Jan Bowden of Kittery Point, York Hospital Hospice, and Greater Faith Works of Kittery for making her final days as comfortable as possible.

She is survived by her loving family; her sister, Yolanda Sanchez of San Antonio, Texas; her son, Charlie Lynch and companion Susan Estes of Kittery Point; her daughter, Joy and husband, Larry Raab of San Diego, California; her grandchildren, Sandy Lynch of Hampton, Jill and husband Steve O'Hara of Bronx, New York, Calvin and Nathan Raab of San Diego, California.

Friends may visit Rose's family on Wednesday November 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home. 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine. Private services will be held on at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to York Hospital Hospice. Care for the Lynch family has been entrusted to the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home.
