Russell E. White

YORK, Maine - Russell E. White, 86 of Frost Hill Road in York, Died on June 2, 2013 at his home.

Born in Manchester, on July 12, 1926 he was a son of Everett W. and Edna (Mayer) White, graduated from Manchester High School and New Hampshire College.

Russ was an avid golfer, fisherman, and gardener. He loved photography, crossword puzzles, nature, being outdoors and sharing his love of each of these with anyone who had the time to look, listen, and learn from him. Up until last August, he enjoyed his morning coffee with friends at the Eliot Dunkin Donuts. However, during past six months, he looked forward to seeing his capable loving team of professionals from York Hospital's Home Health Care who truly had a positive impact on his life.

Russ's life was one of great stability, goal setting, determination, and high standards, working for the same company for 42 years, living in and caring for his home in York for 44 years, and giving family and home important places in his heart. Russ was the former President of Clarostat Manufacturing Co., Inc., Dover.

He was active in the community serving as president of the Dover Rotary Club, and Dover Chamber of Commerce, and Trustee of Berwick Academy. Russ also enjoyed membership in and served as a Deacon at the First Parish Federated Church in South Berwick.

He is survived by his wife Deloris, a son Russell White, Jr., and a daughter Lori A. White all of York, Maine as well as three sons Peter, David and James White. As a loving Papa, he took great joy and delight in his grandchildren Logan and Sage Works of York, expressing his pride in their accomplishments, sharing their interests, and teaching them about clocks, gardening, fishing, puzzles, and more.

There will be private memorial service for the immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Art HOPE at www.arthope.org or the Kittery Lions Club. Care for the White family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
