Sheryl (Young) Russell

SPRINGVALE - Sheryl (Young) Russell, 55, of Springvale, died on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford after battling cancer for the past year.

Sheryl was born in Bangor on Aug. 13, 1957, to Paul and Gloria (St. Peter) Young. She grew up in Bangor and attended local schools, graduating from Bangor High School in 1975.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, working around her house and floating in her pool with her husband and her hound. She loved animals and was particularly fond of her dog Cassidy. She was a devoted wife and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Sheryl knew that the path to Heaven was through Jesus Christ and she faced her death with dignity and strength. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Sheryl was predeceased by her parents and grandparents.

Surviving are her husband, Stephen Russell, of Springvale; her stepdaughter, Kara Russell, of Kenduskeag; her brother, Michael Young, and his wife, Heather, of Hermon; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James (Bill) and Ann Russell, of Millinocket; her brother-in-law, Jay Russell, and his wife, Tammy, of Millinocket; and one niece, two nephews and one great-nephew.
