ALTON - Douglas A. "Big Papa" Chick, 53, of 28 Meadow Drive died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston after a period of failing health.
He was born Dec. 9, 1960, in Rochester and has been a life long resident. He worked as a truck driver most of his life. Doug was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, four wheeling and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the American Legion Riders of Post #7 and a former member of the Rochester Lodge of Elks. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Members of his family include his long time companion Sherry Waterman of Alton; his daughter, Destiny Morin and her fiancée, Roger Johnson of Somersworth; mother, Shirley Chick of Rochester; grandchildren, Daunte, Douglas, Desireigh; brothers, Michael and wife Linda Chick, Earl Chick and his longtime girlfriend, Janet Hill, Daniel Chick all of Rochester; five adopted grandchildren, Autumn Rose, William, Jr., Angelina, Dominick, and DJ and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A time of sharing Doug's life will be held Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. at the American Legion Post #7, Eastern Avenue, Rochester, N.H.
In lieu of flowers, the Doug Chick Memorial Fund has been set up at Holy Rosary Credit Union, at any branch office.
Arrangements are under the care of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester, N.H.
