ALTON - Shirley Zalenski, 83, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014, at her daughter's home in Acton, Maine following a period of failing health.
Born Feb. 23, 1931 in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Dora (Lamper) Hooper.
Mrs. Zalenski worked for many years as a Corrections Officer at the state prison in Concord.
She enjoyed yard saling and caring for the elderly.
Members of her family include her children William Coyne, Jr. of Barrington; Kenneth Hussey III of Milton Mills; Ted Hussey and wife Deborah Spencer Hussey of Alton; James Hussey of Sanbornville; and Joanne Moulton and husband Dwayne of Acton, Maine; fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, two sisters Sylvia Dorr of Rochester; and Carolyn Rosenfeld, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Alfred Zalenski, Sr.
Family and friends may visit Friday March 7, 2014 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, N.H.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 12 p.m.
Burial will take place in the Lovell Lake Cemetery in Sanbornville in the spring.
