YORK, Maine - James David Adams, 46 died unexpectedly on March 21, 2014 at his home in York, Maine.
Born in Boston, Mass. on August 9, 1967 he is the son of Terry and Dorothy (Doyle) Adams. He attended York Schools graduating with the class of 1985. He furthered his education at Rochester Institute of Technology, studying Technical Photography.
An avid outdoorsman, skier, and animal lover, his early career was spent in adventure photography. Most recently he worked as a skilled tradesman in carpentry and plumbing.
He spent much of his time helping others, and donated his carpentry and plumbing skills to the Center For Wildlife in Cape Neddick, Maine.
He was a longtime member of the Appalachian Mountain Club and enjoyed hiking and hosting thru-hikers as they traveled the trail north.
His first love was his family, he is survived by his parents, Terry and Dorothy Adams, brother Tom and wife Sheila, nieces Corby and Emerson of York, and sister Lyn Adams, nieces and nephews Natalie, Christopher, Hillary, Andrew, and Amanda.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 5-8 p.m. in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home 125 Old Post Road Kittery, Maine 03904. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Center for Wildlife POB 620 Cape Neddick, Maine 03902. Arrangements are entrusted to the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home.
