Jeremiah "Jerry" W. Carberry

DOVER - Jeremiah "Jerry" W. Carberry, 64, died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Hyder Family Hospice House

Born in Portsmouth, October 3, 1949, and was a former resident of Rye Beach and moved to Dover in 1952. He was raised by his aunts and uncles Herbert B. and Margaret M. Carberry and Sarah and John Leary. He was a 1963 graduate of St. Mary Academy, a 1967 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and a 1971 graduate of Burdette College. He was also a graduate of Astonia School of Banking.

Jerry was active in the community having served on the board of Wentworth Home Health and Hospice Care, and the Strafford County Board of Realtors Affiliates. He was a member and former President of the Dover Lions Club, and formerly served as Chairperson of Saint Mary Academy School Board and was a former School Board Member at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School.

He was a former City of Dover Trustee of Trust Funds, former President of Eastern NH American Institute of Banking and former State Chairman NH Institute of Banking.

Jerry was recently awarded the St. Mary Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is given to an individual who embodies St. Mary's mission of servant leadership by making a significant positive impact on his/her community.

He was a mortgage banker for Envoy Mortgage Limited Partnership of Dover.

Jerry was of Irish Heritage, a devout Roman Catholic and a communicant of St. Joseph Church.

He is survived by his wife Stephanie (Ellis) Carberry, his three children Joshua K. Carberry, Zachary P. Carberry and Erin J. Carberry. He also leaves his siblings Natalie J. Healy, John E. Carberry, Jr., Rebecca Carberry, Michael A. Carberry, Patrick J. Carberry and wife Margaret, Timothy G. Carberry and wife Christine, Kelli J. Murray and husband James, as well as cousins Paul F. Leary and Martha Leary, many nieces and nephews, and his faithful dog Tek.

Friends are invited to call Tuesday April 1st from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Parish of the Assumption, St. Joseph Church, 150 Central Ave. Burial will follow in St. Mary New Cemetery.
