Stanley M. Tasker, Jr.

Dover – Stanley M. Tasker, Jr., 84, died Thursday March 27, 2014 at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.

Born in Dover, October 25, 1929 the son of Stanley M. and Margaret (Haley) Tasker. He graduated from Dover High School and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and was honorably discharged after 10 years.

Returning to Dover he worked in the family business, Hoitt and Wentworth Painters. He later worked at the Seabrook Station for Guy Marshall Painters.

Stan was a longtime member of the American Legion, a 60-year member and former Elk of the Year of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of Dover. During his retirement he enjoyed planting a large garden with his friend Adrian Senecal, supplying friends and family with bushels of fresh produce. He also spent time reading, talking with friends, and watching golf and football. In recent years Stan fought courageously to overcome several serious illnesses, continuing to garden in his 83rd year.

He is survived by a brother Arthur C. Tasker and his wife Deborah of Dover, two nephews Stanley F. Tasker and his wife Sarah of Sudbury, MA and John M. Tasker of Dover, three beloved grand-nephews Kyle, Ryan and Matthew Tasker of Sudbury, MA and many friends.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Mary DeCicco.

Friends may call Tuesday, April 1, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
