Alonzo Holly Wilson

DOVER - Alonzo Holly Wilson, 66, of Auburn Street passed peacefully on Saturday June 21, 2014. Alonzo was born in West Palm Beach Fla. on April 17, 1948, the son of Alonzo H. Wilson, Sr. and Johni Ola (Weaver) Spencer.

He spent his growing years in St. Louis, Missouri, and summers in West Palm where he worked as a lifeguard. Alonzo attended Beaumont High School. Upon graduating he joined the Marine Corps, serving 1967 to 1970 and was awarded his "dress blues" at graduation from boot camp, served as a forward observer in Vietnam, earning the rank of Sergeant E5. His last duty post was the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard where he was a prison guard. He went on to serve in the Marine Corps reserves, ending service in 1973.

He worked for Sears Product Services as a Service Technician for 37 years. He enjoyed the challenge of being a diagnostics and repair specialist. He was very skilled as carpenter, enjoyed working in his yard and loved to fish. His motorcycle was his passion.

In 1982 he married Martha and had a cherished marriage for 31 years. Alonzo was a very loving father and treasured his family. He loved each day that he lived.

He is survived by his wife Martha (Peterson) Wilson of Dover, his mother Johni Ola (Weaver) Spencer of Mo.; children, Michael D. Wilson of Mo., Alonzo M. Wilson of Calif., Kelseyaiyana Wilson and her boyfriend Timothy Theodore of Dover, Cynthia Marie Scott of Conn.; a brother, Michael G. Wilson of FL; two sisters, Eugenia Gates and husband Kenneth of Fla. and Belinda Miller-Lowe of Fla.; extended family Nancy and David Pond of Mass., Natalie and Bruce Torkelson of Okla., and their children and spouses.

He is predeceased by his father Alonzo H. Wilson, Sr. and sister Thelma Wilson.

Calling hours will be Thursday June 26 from 4 to 8 at the Tasker Funeral Home 621 Central Ave Dover, N.H.

A funeral service will be held on Friday June 27 at 11 a.m. at The Tasker Funeral Home.
