Stella C. Cole

York, ME- Stella C.(Beaulieu) Cole, 98, died peacefully in the company of several members of her family on August 1, 2014 at Sentry Hill.

Beloved aunt of several generations of nieces and nephews, she was born May 19, 1916, in Gonic, NH a daughter of the late Emilio and Ida (Morin) Beaulieu and later moved to East Rochester, NH in 1938 where she lived with her husband, Richard E. Cole, for 65 years until his death in 2003. She moved to Deerfield Place in York, ME in 2007 and to Sentry Hill in 2011 where she always had a smile for everyone and made many wonderful friends who provided valuable companionship and support in her later years.

Throughout her life she shared a summer cottage at York Beach with her large extended family, and well into her 90's she would spend an hour or more each day, riding the waves on her boogie board regardless of the ocean temperature. In the evenings she would organize "Oh Heck" card games and usually outlast all players even though most of them were a fraction of her age.

She never had children of her own, but "Auntie" loved being around kids of all ages and was a favorite aunt and surrogate grandmother of numerous nieces and nephews.

She retired from General Electric in 1980 after spending over 30 years at the GE plant in Somersworth, NH.

She was predeceased by three brothers; Jerome, Fabien and Julien Beaulieu, and by three sisters; Anna Rose Dozois, Ann Southworth, and Rita Keith. A brother, Russell Beaulieu of York, ME survives her.
