Sandra Dailey Obituary
Born in Portsmouth on Feb. 18, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Mary (Tierney) Lane. She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School and Chandler School for Women in Boston, Mass.
Her interests included music, dancing, traveling, nature, and life at the lake with her daughters and grandchildren. She was a special person and inspiration to everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, U.S. Army Retired Brig. Gen. John N. Dailey. She was a devoted wife and mother and patriotic citizen who served her country loyally as an army wife for 31 years.
She is also survived by her daughters, Debbie Dailey of Centreville, Va., Wendy Lukstat of Clifton, Va., Christine Dailey-Geis of Austin, Texas, Jennifer Dailey of Boulder, Colo.; grandchildren, Garett, Kristin, Caden, Logan, Jack, and Ella, who were the light of her life, her twin sister, Sheila Lane Tsioutsias and husband, Drake, of Virginia Beach, Va.; and her brother, Donald W. Lane and wife, Patricia, of Portsmouth.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated with military interment on March 30 at 2:45 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sandra's name may be made the Ladies of the Night Stalkers Association, 11304 Bell Station Road, Oak Grove, KY 42262.
Arrangements are by the Farrell Funeral Home 684 State Street, Portsmouth, N.H.

General Dailey; I am so sorry to learn of your wife's passing and a very strange feeling arose thinking of you and her, I extend my deepest sympathies at this time and wish i could be present to assist my favorite 4th ROTC Commander in his time of need. I to have been blessed to have my wife Judy in mind this morning as she was intered at Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery since December 2005. I have thought of you may times hoping you have been enjoying retirement in NH since you left Fort Lewis. May her dearly departed soul rest in peace this day and will remember her at mass this coming weekend.

Blessings surround you always, especially as you grieve. God has you protected in his loving arms - rest in His peace...The peace that soothes the body, mind, and soul.
I am grateful to have had Sandy in my life (a lifetime ago), such wonderful memories of many fun times with Tina Goodrich, Trish(Pat)Bass, Sandy and Me. I was there the first time she participated in short-sheeting a bed! It was hilarious! I can imagine the fun going on in heaven now with those 3 laughing together...
Her love, caring, kindness,and thoughtfulness got her and her ladies through so much! She will be missed by all she touched.
Through her life she was an angel on earth to so many and by being here, she changed the world into a much better place for all of us.
John the words you spoke when I lost Ted were so very important to me... thank you dear friend. Please hold onto the laughing, caring, ever-loving Sandy.... I do and I thank God for the privilege of knowing you both!
My ear and shoulder are always available... Take care of yourself and the family... and remember - gratefulness is the best healer of sorrow. Love to all!

Sandie was a true orchard in the greenhouse of life. She was one of the most pleasant persons I have ever known. She, her twin sister Sheila and brother Don always made you feel "at home" in their Lincoln Avenue house. So too their wonderful parents.
Although I have not laid eyes upon Sandie for the past five years she will definitely will be missed and always remembered as the rarest of orchards in the PHS class of 1960.
My most sincere condolences to John, their family members and her sister and brother. MAY SHE REST IN PEACE.
