DOVER —<B> </B>Roger H. Needham,<B> </B>75 of Dover died Saturday January 29, 2011 at the Hyder Family Hospice House surrounded by his family after a courageous two-year battle with Pancreatic cancer.

Born May 19, 1935 in Sanford, Me the son of Herman and Mildred (Hood) Needham. He graduated from Sanford High School in 1953. Following High School her served 4 years in the US Air Force. He graduated from NH Technical Institute in Portsmouth, NH. He worked for New England Telephone Company in the CO Department in Portsmouth, NH. He retired in 1991 after 35 years of service.

He was a Life member of the Dover Lodge of Elks #184 and the American Legion Dover Post 8. He and his wife Elaine spent many years Square Dancing throughout the Seacoast Area. He loved to dance and was a great ballroom dancer. He loved to garden, the beach, traveling and spending time with family and many years at the family cottage at Middle Branch Pond in Waterboro, ME.

He will be sadly missed by his family and friends and will always be in their hearts. Members of his family include his wife of 55 years Elaine R. (Sweeney), his two sons Scott R. Needham of Springvale, ME and his companion Pam and Craig A. Needham and wife Nancy of Wells, ME, grandchildren Erin Needham of Rochester, NH, Andrea and Chad Needham of Dover, NH, Scott Needham Jr. and Stephanie Needham of Berwick, ME, two great grandchildren; Haze and Hannah Perkins of North Berwick, ME.

Calling hours will be on Monday January 31, 2011 at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover from 4-7 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 1, 2011 at the Funeral Home at 11 am. Burial will be in the spring at Oak Dale Cemetery in Sanford, ME.
