DOVER — Josephine "Jo" O'Neil, 84, of Dover, passed away peacefully at her home on Sept. 17, 2011, with her family by her side.

Jo was born on Sept. 24, 1926, in Rochester, the daughter of Lloyd and Dora (Hayes) Perkins. She was raised and educated in Dover and graduated from Dover High School.
Jo was a homemaker who enjoyed raising and caring for her four boys. Her door was always open to the neighborhood children to gather and play. She took great pride and had a flair for interior decorating.
She was a Docent at the Moffatt-Ladd House and Garden in Portsmouth, where she enjoyed giving tours and sharing its history for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth M. O'Neil. She is survived by her four boys, Ken O'Neil and his wife, Linda, of North Carolina, Michael O'Neil of Dover, Dennis O'Neil and his wife, Linda, of Alton, and Steve O'Neil and his wife, Kate, of Portsmouth. Grandchildren, Alyssa Williams, Josh O'Neil, Tim O'Neil, Andrew O'Neil, Grady O'Neil and great-grandchild, Riley Williams, also survive her.
There are no calling hours or funeral services. Private burial will take place.
