BERWICK, Maine—Dennis M. Barry, 60, of Berwick, died Friday October 7, 2011 at Hyder Family Hospice House after a period of declining health.

Born in Dover on February 27, 1951, the son of Joseph and Lillian (Ducharme) Barry. He grew up in Dover and was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War where he was trained as a medic.

Dennis worked for many years in the construction field. However, he truely found his niche when he started working as a job coach for men with disablilties. He had a gift for giving them a purpose in the working world and making them contributing members of society. It didn't stop there. He made sure they were accepted everywhere. He often spent his own time with them, whether it was bringing them to a fair or a baseball game. He changed many lives for the better.

He is survived by his wife of more than 30 years Judy (Arnault) Barry, two children Rebecca Falkenburg and husband Joshua of Dover, Jackson Barry of Berwick, two grandchildren Isabella and Lillian Falkenburg, two brothers Joseph Barry of Kittery and Patrick Barry of Dover and nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother David Barry and a very dear friend Billy Monahan.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Wentworth Hospice and Hyder Family Hospice House for their loving care. Especially Carol who made Dennis' final wish of meeting his newest granddaughter happen. Also a special thanks to a dear friend, Tom Geary.

Friends are invited to call Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Tasker Funeral home, 621 Central Ave., Dover followed by a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary New Cemetery.

Dennis requested that any contributions that wish to be made go to his family for expenses to: Dennis Barry Memorial Fund, Attn: Mary Arnault 4 Elizabeth St. Rochester, NH 03867.
