Born in Dodge City, Kan., on Sept. 27, 1966, to Dean and Linda (Spreier) Hardgrove, she worked for Liberty Mutual for 20 years. In her career she worked in the offices in Omaha, Neb., Englewood, Colo., Farmington Hills, Mich., and Dover, N.H. Her current position was Unit Manager of Excessive Claims & Workers Compensation Claims in Liberty Mutual's Commercial Markets Examining Unit.
Dawn was a member of the Dover Be Free Community Church.
She is survived by her three boys, Matthew Thornton of Manhattan, Kan., Jacob Thornton and Walker Thornton, who both lived with their mother in Dover; her parents, Dean and Linda (Spreier) Hardgrove of Estes Park, Colo.; a sister, Heather Hardgrove of Estes Park, Colo., and two uncles and their families.
Dawn was predeceased by her grandparents, Ruth and Clinton Hardgrove and LaVern and Lucille Spreier.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Jamie Hemphill, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Jetmore, Kan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dawn Thornton Memorial Fund, c/o Citizen's Bank, 140 Washington St., Dover, NH 03820. This is an educational fund that has been set up to benefit her three children.
