BERWICK, Maine — Stephen M. Brackett, 65, of Berwick, Passed away on April 23, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Jan. 17, 1947, the son of Verne M. and Anna Jean Brackett. Steve was a family man and greatly cherished the time he spent with his family. He worked for 31 years at Hussey Seating in North Berwick, serving in many different roles. In his later years, he spent his working days at St. Thomas Aquinas School in Dover, N.H. where he developed many friendships that he held very dear to his heart. He was a true New Englander, enjoying hometown sports, reminiscing with his close friends, Andy and Carlene Fiel and Rob Clement and took great pride in maintaining the Brackett Farmhouse.

Steve is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elaine; his younger sister, Colleen; and two sons, Aaron and Christopher. Aaron and his wife, Lien and their two daughters live in Rollinsford, N.H. Christopher and his wife, Quinn and their son Owen live in Berwick.

He is also survived by sister in law, Sheila Litvinchyk and her husband Peter; brother in law, Greg Swett and his wife Dot; brother in law, Peter Swett and his wife Jackie; as well as many nieces and nephews

He was a wonderful husband, brother, father, papa, uncle and friend who will be missed dearly.

A public graveside service will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Berwick, Maine.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Stephen's memory be made to one of the following:
