Evelyn Fillion Obituary
Born September 15, 1909, in South Berwick, Maine, she was the daughter of Philip and Minnie Mae (Warren) Groah.
She and her husband Alfred made their home in Dover where they owned and operated Silver Street Market for 31 years.
After retirement she was never idle. She enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques, solving crossword puzzles, and playing duplicate bridge. She was also a passionate gardener where she said she felt closest to God.
Survivors include a daughter Claudia Vancelette and her husband, Carl of Barrington; a son, Alfred Eric and wife, Vicky Fillion of Eliot, Maine; four grandchildren, Phillip Vancelette of Rochester, Chad Fillion of Kittery, Maine, Jennifer Bedgood of Milton and Paige Murdock of Kittery, Maine, along with eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind Mary Fowler whom she lovingly considered a daughter.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Alfre; her sisters, Bernice, Marjorie and Phyllis, and her brother Gordon.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Wadleigh House assisted care facility for the loving care she was given.
