WATERTOWN, Conn. — Lucille Brennan Stone, age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012 surrounded by her family. Lucille was born July 4, 1926, in Dover, the daughter of John J. and Eva A. Brennan; and of sister Barbara Brennan Holbrook.

In 1951, Lucille married the love of her life Lawrence H. Stone. "Lu" and "Larry" spent the majority of their married life residing in Watertown, Conn. In addition to raising their four children, Lu worked as a receptionist for the Taft School Admissions Office for more than 20 years. Lu also spent many years working for the telephone company both in New Hampshire and in Connecticut. She loved those jobs; but, most importantly, she loved her family. She was the ultimate supporter and fan of both her husband's and children's athletic endeavors.
Lucille is survived by her husband Lawrence H. Stone of Watertown Conn.; her sister Barbara Brennan Holbrook of Laconia; her children, Michael B. Stone of Sunderland Mass., Kelly Stone of Greenwich Conn., James H. Stone of Blairstown, N.J., and Kathleen B. Stone of Arlington, Mass.; daughters-in-law, Cynthia P. Stone and Rachel E. Stone; grandchildren, Kylie P. Stone, Jamie B. Stone, Lawrence H. Stone II, Cullen J. Stone and Kip M. Stone. She also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends.
There will be a graveside service at the St. Mary's Cemetery in Dover, N.H. on Monday, Aug. 27 at 11:30 a.m. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday Sept. 9, 2012 at the Woodward Chapel, on the Green, Watertown, Conn.
A reception will follow at the Taft School, faculty room.
