DOVER - John A. Boucher, 73, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Riverside Rest Home in Dover, surrounded by his children after a long period of COPD.

John was born in Barre, Vt. Oct. 5, 1939 the son of Joseph and Jeannette (Leblanc) Boucher.

He grew up and lived in the Somersworth/Rollinsford area. John attended St. Martins School and Somersworth High School and was a member of St. Martins Church.

As a young man with a love for cars, John started his auto body career at Emerson Chevrolet in Somersworth. He took pride in his workmanship and the ability to restore vehicles. He eventually retired from Gagnon's Autobody. John cherished his family and friends, enjoyed playing cards, bowling, water skiing, snowmobiling and most of all making people laugh. John was an outgoing giving person with a great sense of humor. He had his own catch phrases which will surely be missed. Everything was "Golden."

He was the widower of Laurie (Corriveau) Boucher who passed away on November 21, 1986. He was also predeceased by his parents Joseph and Jeanette (LeBlanc) Boucher.

He is survived by his three loving children, Donnalee Greeley and her husband Norman of Farmington, N.H., Joseph Boucher and his wife, Lori of Rollinsford, and Cheryl Purpura and her husband William of Somersworth; seven grandchildren, Jason English, Justin English, Christopher Greeley, Kaylee Boucher, Joey Boucher, Matthew Button, Laura Purpura; four great grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Lewis and her husband, Robert of Dover; and a brother, Ronald Boucher and his wife, Christine of Somersworth.

John enjoyed his time at Riverside Rest Home and the family would like to thank the staff for all their care and support.

Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Roberge Funeral Home 298 High St. Somersworth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ignatius Parish St. Martin Church. 120 Maple St. Somersworth. A burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
