DOVER - Richard Albert Fournier, 78, of Holiday dr. died peacefully on January 23, 2012 at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover with his family by his side.

He was born in Somersworth, September 28, 1934 the son of Joseph and Florida (LePage) Fournier.
Dick served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He worked 30 years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, retiring early to take up his passion of golf.
Members of his family include his son, Richard and Kathy Fournier, daughters, Deborah Fournier of Somersworth, Pamela and Scott Woodman of Dover and Dawn and Christopher Doucet of Sanford, a brother, Roger and Susan Fournier of Arizona, sisters, Elaine and Nicholas Tsopas of Dover, and Clair Ramus of Quaker Hill, Conn., sister-in-law, Betty Fournier of Somersworth, grandchildren, Joey, Jamie and Robbie Fournier, Samuel and Lindsey Woodman of Dover and JoAnn and Julia Doucet of Sanford, Maine, also, a special friend, Shirley Edmunds.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert, Lionel and George.
Dick was also blessed for 20 years with a very dear friend, Jean Howard who died several years ago.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hyder House as well as the Critical Care Unit at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
