Elaine Norton Clark Hargreaves

ROLLINSFORD - Elaine Norton Clark Hargreaves, 88, passed away on June 29, 2013. She was born in Gardiner, Maine, grew up in Augusta, graduated from Coney High and worked at the State House.

The Air Force wife of Adelbert Clark, Elaine cared for her family as she traveled Europe and the US, cherishing moments like skiing in Austria, cafes in Paris, beaches in California, and national parks of the west. Elaine spent 24 years in Exeter, working at Lopardo's Jewelry, Moore's Shoe Store and retired from the Exeter &Hampton Electric Co. after 12 years. Elaine was a lover of the arts. Whether singing pub songs in Ireland, playing the piano for her grandkids, boogying on the dance floor or painting a lighthouse in Maine, Elaine expressed her joy of life. Her years in Rollinsford, with her second husband, "Ronnie" were spent RVing, cheering the Red Sox, tending her iris and going dancing.

Elaine leaves her devoted husband of 20 years, Ronald Hargreaves and will be forever remembered by her brothers Robert and Linwood Norton, sister Barbara McNally, her beloved children David, Susan, Linwood and Dale Clark, Juliann Woodbury, treasured grandchildren David and Justin Clark, Shawn Foster, Anna, Eric and Matthew Woodbury.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Exeter Congregational Church, 21 Front St., Exeter N.H.
