Mr Ross's son Bill and I were friends in the same grade at Barrington Elementary. We were 9 yrs old and Mr Ross was driving us home from roller skating at the Humoresque in Rochester (there's a throwback). He was always trying to engage us with his sharp mind, prodding, quizzing, and was asking us who was the greatest pianist that ever lived; Beethoven, Chopin, Bach. I really didn't know them so I just said the one I saw on TV the night before - "Liberace". He laughed so hard I thought he was going to swerve off the road. My condolences to the whole Ross family. Fifty years later I remember professor Ross and his keen mind well.

Shep was "one of a kind". He was interesting, funny and intelligent. He added flavor to this life. His eternal life has been secured. Sandy and I will always remember him.
Love to all his family,

Karen and family, Though it's been many years since we worked together at RRH, I remember our conversations about your parents. It sounds as if they enjoyed their lives together. It is so hard to let them go! You are in my thoughts. Fondly, Libby Lanoie

To Shep's family,
Richie and I always enjoyed seeing Shep and Virgina cruzing past our home in his sporty convertable going to their lake camp. Didn't he love his convertable cars. We enjoyed our summer visits and lovely conversations. Often catching up on children and grandchildren, they were so proud of them. We miss Virgina and now Shep too. How time passes so fast.
Our sincere sympathy. Gods Blessings to all.

In 1969 Dr.Ross came to the Barrington school to teach a handful of us 8th graders advanced algebra.I never realized the opportunity we were given. To us he was just Chip's dad.Maybe the most important thing he taught us was to"smoke"a stick of chaulk, not cigarettes.

We are so sorry to hear this news. Shep was one of my all-time favorite people. In my early years at UNH, he took me for a ride down Route 4 in his Triumph, driving in the breakdown lane the entire time! We would have long chats, and believe me, they were entertaining. I loved Shep's down-east accent.
Once we moved to Florida, we thoroughly enjoyed Shep's and Virginia's company on their annual Florida visits. They were so proud of their children and grand-children. We miss them both and will never forget them. They both live on in our hearts.

As a neighbor I enjoyed many conversations with Mr Ross as he took his daily walks and on occasion we would run into each other at the market or at Wendy's. A very nice man and I will miss him.

You were a great man and will be missed by many . I'm glad I was able to marry into your family and share many fond memories with you all . I'm glad you let a guy you "hardly knew " marry your daughter. I hope that you think it was a good choice . Say hi to Virg and Bill for us and tell them not a day goes by without us thinking of them . "Mr. Harton"

To the family of Mr. Ross
I miss his nearly daily walks around the Public Safety building with his trusty walking stick, If the doors were open he would stop by and chat for a few minutes or a quick wave and continue on. My condolences to each of you on his passing and may the good Lord hold each of you in his loving arms during this most difficult time. RIP Mr. Ross.
