Scott Houle Obituary

DOVER - Scott Charles Houle, 63, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 on vacation in Florida. Born in Bangor, Maine, he lived most of his life in Dover, N.H.

Scott was a funny, encouraging, and giving man with a passion for aviation. He fulfilled his childhood dream of being a pilot, for the N.H. Air National Guard and Delta Airlines. He loved the Red Sox, warm weather, sharing stories, and laughing with his family.

Scott was incredibly loving and proud of his family, wife of 39 years, Wen-Huwa Ho; children, Trevor, of Caribou, Maine, Tyler and wife Jing, of Dedham, Mass., and Lindsay and boyfriend Tony, of San Fransisco, Calif. Though he was a lifelong dog person, his feline friend and little buddy, Lilo, will miss him dearly.

He's survived by parents, Norman "Houley" and Kathleen of Barrington; brothers Mark and wife Sue, Craig and wife Donna, and Norman "Chip" and wife Sharon; and loving family and friends.

SERVICES: Please join us in celebrating Scott's life on Saturday, March 31, 2018, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., in Dover.

Memorial donations may be made in Scott's name to his favorite charity, The Jimmy Fund. Please go to www.taskerfh.com to sign the online guestbook.

In addition to what I wrote in the initial Guest Book, I also wanted to add that Scott had a cool looking mustache (post High School) that reminded me of a "gunslinger" in the Old West !! ... Gone Too Soon.

Wen and the rest of the Houle family, I was shocked to hear of Scott's passing. I send my most sincere condolences at the news of your lose. I will remember Scott as a fun loving mischievous person who liked goofing on his brothers and their friends. I consider myself fortunate to be one of those friends of the family growing up and will treasure those memories of him. My deepest heart felt sympathies go out to all of you. I know he will be greatly missed.

Dear Wen, Lindsay, Tyler, Trevor and family, I was so saddened to hear about Scott's passing. When I was a young kid and still today, every time I see a KC-135 flying in or out of Pease, or a pilot doing a walk-around as part of their pre-flight check at an airport, I invariably think of Scott. It is amazing how some people come in to your life and make an impression on you - whether it be small or big, whether it is a friend, family member, co-worker, or a brief acquaintenance along the way. Scott certainly made an impression on me. When I was young, I didn't know exactly what he did for a living until one day my dad explained that he was an airline pilot and then I was like, "Wow!" But, of course, as we all know, he was much more than a pilot. During the service on Saturday, it became quickly apparent to me that he was also a very loving husband and a loving father and a great friend to many of us whom we will never forget. Your family is so beautiful Wen. It's been such a long time since the last time I saw you and your family. I sincerely wish the best in the future to Lindsay, Tyler and Trevor. My heart aches right now for all of you. I just don't know what to do say in this message. It was wonderful to see your family surrounded by so many who knew Scott. Time has a way of slowly healing our hearts - I suppose - along with the love and support of family and friends. Every day we have to find a way to keep the candle burning bright in our spirit and live to the fullest and if the candle begins to flicker and fade then it implores one to reflect and find a sense of renewed purpose. Once again, my sincere condolences to all of you.

Wen and family,
So sorry for your unexpected, sudden loss. Scotty was one of the first to welcome me to the NHANG flying community. He was crew on the plane that came to my pilot training graduation in Texas. Always funny and kidding around, he was a very welcoming face in the unit. Wen, you were the first wife I met and, since we're still friends today, I have many years of fun times and memories. I'm glad you have such an extensive family to help you through this difficult time. You also have the friendships you have nurtured through these years. We're family, too. We're here for you.

I am very sorry to hear of Scott's passing. I had many opportunities to fly with him at Delta and enjoyed every time. He did a great job in the airplane and an equally great job on the layovers. It was impossible to be around Scott and not have a good time! It must have been inherited because I felt the same way about his dad, Norm. I know how much his family meant to Scott from our conversations. Please except my sincere condolences.

Wen, I am so sorry for to hear about Scott's passing. I just ran into you both not too long ago. It is hard to get one's head around it. I had a lot of fun playing against him in baseball and both sides of hockey over so many years. We both always had the needle out for each other and always got the jokes. I can't begin to understand the magnitude of the loss to you and your family. Deepest sympathies to you all.

March 29, 2018

To Wen and the whole Houle & Ho families; my sympathy and sincerest condolences are sent to you all on this sad occasion (too young; too early). May the unity of family, friends, and your faith help you to get through this unexpected loss. Among Scott's St.Thomas Aquinas H.S. Varsity Baseball Team, 3 of Scott's buddies were 3 Steve's: Caron, LeBrun, and Linchey. Scott was such a great classmate, as well as teammate; we were very lucky to have known him and spent time with him ... He'd always bring a smile to the occasion (including when we'd privately joke about our coach when he needed it!!) I had another friend who flew with Delta also, but don't know if they knew each other. But we know that Scott has flown up to the "ultra-friendly-skies" at this time. As a side note, I believe that "Chip" (or maybe Craig) built my sister's house at 25 County Farm Road. They have been the only family there. And Wen, I believe that you and Scott were in the same H.S. grades, just at different High Schools and your Tennis Coach (?) was the Legendary Graham Alvord (at PHS). In conclusion, prayers go out to your whole family, and I believe that Scott and Wen were destined to be together ... after all, "Ho" are the first 2 letters of "Houle" ... Peace ...

Rit and I send love- in 30ish years of Christmas gettogethers, Scott was always the life of the party, with a twinkle in his eye and a warm smile- and this Christmas was no different. He fulfilled my dream of riding in a Porsche by zipping me around the neighborhood, making sure to rev it on the straightaway! So fun. I remember meeting him when he visited Wen at BC- so sweet, so cheery- and that's how he stayed, with Wen and his kids his pride and joy- always full of wonderful stories about them. Our sincere sympathies on his loss,

Much love, Barbara and Rit
