Mr. George Joseph Marshall, 86, of Frederick, MD died Monday, November 25, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born on January 18, 1927 in Newark, NJ and was a devoted son of the late Stella Ihrig Marshall.
He attended the Kingsley Schoolhouse in Clarksburg, MD in his elementary years and then Damascus High School. After, he proudly served his country in World War II
on the battleship U.S.S. Idaho.
George worked at the American Instrument Company for nearly 40 years. He then worked for the Naval Medical Research Institute at Bethesda Naval Hospital from 1983 to 1991 as a Gas King.
George always enjoyed a good trip, a good hunt, and a good round of golf, as well as a deep love for all of his grandchildren.
Surviving him are three children: Susan North and husband Mike of Minnesota, James Marshall and wife Karolyn of New Windsor, Karen Nichols and husband Brett of Frederick. Grandchildren: Thomas and Jennifer North, Rachel and Matthew Nichols, and JayJay Marshall. He is also survived by one sister, Marion Kerr of Damascus, MD and one brother, Elvin Marshall of Gettysburg, PA. He will be also fondly remembered by his many Navy buddies.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 2, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
