Mr. James Brewer, 76, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Washington Hospital Center, in Washington, DC. He was the beloved husband of Pearl Brewer for 47 years.Born January 3, 1936 in Phoenixville, PA, he was the son of the late William and Mildred Murray Brewer.Mr. Brewer proudly served in the United States Navy and retired with 20 years of service.Upon retirement, he worked for Vitro Corporation then MD National Capital Park and Planning Commission until his passing.James was an avid sports fan and was a supporter of local high school sports. He was a fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Eagles. He was also a life member of the American Legion, Mt. Airy, Post #191. In addition to his wife, Pearl, he is survived by his children: Gary (Kathy), Philip (Leanna), and Diane (Mike); and four grandchildren: Chase, Vaughn, Joshua and Sarah.The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 6-8 PM.
