Marshall Bohrer Jr.

Mr. Marshall Woodrow (Woody) Bohrer, Jr., 70, of Brunswick passed away on January 11, 2014 at home surrounded by his wife and children. He was the husband of Genia Hess Bohrer, his wife of 38 years.

Born July 23, 1943 in Brunswick, he was the son of Kathleen Bohrer of Frederick and the late Marshall W. Bohrer, Sr. He grew up in Brunswick and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at the age of 17. He served in the United States Secret Service Uniformed Division for 37 years. He spent most of that time in the West Wing, and he assisted in developing new security measures after the attempted assassination of President Reagan. "Woody" loved his job! After he retired, he enjoyed travelling with Genia, spending time with family, and enjoying his restored '68 Honda Scrambler.

"Woody" was predeceased by infant daughter, Julie Richelle Bohrer and son, Donald Eugene Lerch.

In addition to his loving wife and mother, "Woody" is survived by three children, Crystal Morison, Staci Nininger & husband Glenn, and Brian Bohrer & wife Reina; his two brothers, George Bohrer & wife Kevin and James Bohrer & wife Beth; eleven grandchildren, Kathleen, Matthew, Jamie, Aleta, Catherine, Sara, Katie, Corey, Carter, Drew, and Genica; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15th from 7 - 9 PM at Frederick Christian Fellowship Church, 10142 Hansonville Rd., Frederick, and on Thursday, January 16th from 12 - 1 PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM on Thursday, followed by a funeral procession and interment with military honors at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
