Mr. Edward L. Trey, 97,of Frederick, MD, died Friday March 15, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of the late Jacqueline Olive Trey, his wife of 50+ years.|
Born February 23, 1916 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Trezesniewski.
Mr. Trey was a decorated hero, during WWII, in the U.S. Army and received both the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He served proudly with the 83rd Chemical Mortar Batallion retiring at the rank of LT. COL. He was a member of VFW Post #3285, and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Edward was an avid golfer and enjoyed cheering on any team from Michigan and will be remembered by many for his powerful handshake.
Ed is survived by his older sister Rosalie Kelly, several children Joan Trey Brustein and husband Dan of Ohio, Paul Trey and wife Brooke of Montana, Danny Trey and wife Linda of Michigan and Edward "Teddy" Trey and wife Cindy of Frederick, Daughter in Law Helena Trey; Grandchildren Nathan Brustein and his fiance Maria, Joshua Brustein and his fiance Kristen, Pierce Trey and fiance Erika, Seth Trey and fiance Hannah, Joe Trey and his wife Beth, Tami Trey, Dustin Trey and Jordan Trey; Great-grandchildren Nya Trey, Sophia Trey, and Isaiah Brustein.
He was preceded in death by a son Joseph C. (Christopher) Trey, a sister Leona Weronko and a brother Bernard Trezesniewski.
A memorial Mass to celebrate the life of Ed Trey and his wife Jackie will be held Saturday March 23rd at St. Johns the Evangelist Church, 112 E. 2nd St. Frederick, MD starting at 12:30 pm with a reception to follow.
Ed was very fond of and generous to many charities so in lieu of flowers please make a donation to a
Ed and Jackie Trey will be interned together in the columbarium at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
