Jerry B. Morton Obituary
Jerry B. Morton passed away on Wednesday April 24, 2013, at the age of 62 at his home. Born on Oct. 15, 1950 in Frederick, Maryland he was the son of the late Frank Edwin Morton and Lola Eva Morton.

Jerry was a career Firefighter for Montgomery County Fire Dept. for 23 years; he retired in 1994. During this time he also had his own company, Office Systems Services, installing office systems for the gov- ernment and other busi- nesses. Recently he was a Road to Recovery driver helping fellow cancer patients who needed transportation assistance for treatment.

Diagnosed with cancer in 2006, he cherished all of the time he had. He enjoyed spending his free time playing with his grandson, Tommy, building war zones in the sandbox, taking over the world in board games, and being known by Smampy. He also spent time in his shop, wood working and making beautiful fur- niture for his children. He also loved to travel to Las Vegas with his children, playing blackjack, going to comedy shows, and placing an annual bet for the Ravens to win the Super Bowl. His sense of humor was infectious and he could make a room light up with a witty comment or well placed gag. He shared all of this with Ellen, his best friend and wife of 43 years.

In addition to his wife Ellen, he is survived by his children Thomas Edwin Morton and wife Karen Morton of Frederick, Rachel Morton of Frederick and grandson Thomas Edwin Morton, Jr. He also is survived by his two brothers John B. Morton and wife Carol Morton and Richard Morton and wife Debbie Morton, also of Frederick.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Howell and brothers, Reggie Morton, Bill McGrady, Rex McGrady, Eugene Morton, Frank Morton, David Morton, Forrest Morton.

A memorial service will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick.
