Mr. Jerry Edward Rimbey, Sr., 62, of Mount Airy, MD passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at his home. Born December 15, 1949 in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Edward N. and Mildred Mullinix Rimbey. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Savanna Rimbey.|
Jerry graduated from South Carroll High School, class of 1968. He served 4 years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War era. He retired in 1996 from the National Institute of Standards and Technology as a Supervisor Contract Specialist.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by two Sons, Jerry Jr. and wife Wendy and Mark Rimbey all of Mt. Airy, MD; Two Grandchildren, Leana and Mason Rimbey; Two Sisters, Carole Jean Eaves and husband Roy of Mt. Airy, MD, and Janice Snipes of Fredericksburg, VA; Uncle, Leon Mullinix of Mt. Airy, MD; Mother-in-Law, Annalee Herndon of Damascus, MD; several cousins, brother & sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his best friend, Floyd Farmer and his cousin Dennis Mullinix. Both were more like brothers to Jerry.
He enjoyed spending time with family and his grandchildren. Jerry liked riding his four-wheeler,lawnmower and tractor, and was also anavid hunter, fisherman. He enjoyed eating crabs and running his rabbit dogs.
Family will receive friends on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at Molesworth-Williams, P.A., Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, MD 20872.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012, 11 AM at the funeral home. Rev. Ernest Knight will officiate. Burial will follow at Howard Chapel Church Cemetery, Long Corner.
Serving as Pallbearers include Jerry Rimbey, Jr., Mark Rimbey, Dennis Mullinix, RobinEaves, Michael Brown, David Eaves, and Larry Warfield. In addition, Floyd Farmer will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
