Mrs. Joan Marie Adams, 58, of Knoxville, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2010, at Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton. She was the loving wife of Ronald L. Adams.|
Born in Frederick on Sept. 5, 1951, she was the daughter of Richard David Jenkins Sr. of Adamstown and the late Mary Rosalita Young Jenkins.
Joan had worked as an insurance coordinator for several local dentist offices. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Doubs. She was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed collecting Fenton glassware, glass baskets and Longaberger baskets.
Surviving in addition to her husband and father are two daughters, Crystal Lynn Misner and husband, James, of Emmitsburg, and Ashlea Rose Adams and fianc?, David Roach, of Knoxville; one brother, Richard D. Jenkins Jr. of Adamstown; one sister, Linda E. Stockman and husband, James, of Mount Airy; two grandsons, Dustin Lee Shoemaker and Tyler Wade Kretzer; her aunt, Goldie Davis of Frederick; and many nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered by a special friend, Marilyn Wolfe, of Pennsylvania.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 18, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 19, in Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Marina C. Flores, pastor of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, will officiate. Entombment will be in the mausoleum of Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
Pallbearers will be Ronald L. Adams, Thomas Stockman, Brian Bauerschmidt, David Roach, Dustin Shoemaker and Donald Hubble.
