Mr. Mark John Felichko, 50, of Frederick, MD passed away February 6, 2013.|
Born on October 17, 1962, he was the son of Elizabeth "Betty" McDonald Felichko, also of Frederick, MD, and the late Andrew J. Felichko.
Mark graduated from Middletown High school in 1981 where he was a member of the football team. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Gunner's Mate. He was part of the crew of the USS Milwaukee that was sent ashore to help with the rescue and clean-up after the 1983 bombing of the US Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon. He was honorably discharged from the Navy.
He then began a career as a barber. He worked at Gentleman's Choice II in Frederick, MD for many years and built up a steady clientele. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, gardening and coaching different sports. He also enjoyed history and spent time visiting historic sites.
He will be missed by his family and friends. In addition to his mother he is survived by Jacqueline (Jackie) Talbot, sister, of Virginia; Andrew (Drew) Felichko, brother, of California; and Marla Erickson, sister, of Minnesota.
He is preceded in death by his father and youngest brother, Matthew.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 162 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 1-2 PM where a memorial service will begin at 2 PM.
Interment will be private.
