Paul Calvin Denis, 87, of Selbyville, Del., and formerly of Silver Spring, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at Atlantic General Hospital, Berlin. Born in Washington, he was the son of the late Felix P. and Minna (Chapman) Denis.|
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and had been a senior power plant operator with Pepco in Dickerson.
Mr. Denis was a member and past president of the Fenwick Island Lions Club and a member of the Ocean City American Legion, Salem United Methodist Church in Selbyville and he also attended St. Matthews By-The-Sea United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma I. Denis of Selbyville, Del.; two daughters, Beverly D. van den Heuvel (Ron) of Frederick and Susan A. Denis of Fenwick Island, Del.; one sister, Dorothy Soucy of Millsboro, Del.; one brother, Arthur Denis of St. Matthews, S.C.; two grandchildren, Denise Black and Paula van den Heuvel; and a great-granddaughter, Deziray Onley.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at St. Matthews By-The-Sea United Methodist Church, Dagsboro Street and Coastal Highway, Fenwick Island. The Rev. Bruce Miller will officiate.
