1929 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Virginia C. Crabbs Obituary
Mrs. Virginia C. Crabbs, 85, of Frederick died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Somerford House. She was the loving wife of the late Raymond V. Crabbs who predeceased her in 2012.

Born January 21, 1929 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Hobart and Imogene Barr.

Virginia loved spending time with her family and their many vacations together at the beach. She was an avid gardener who diligently cared for her many flowers. In earlier years, she and her husband enjoyed traveling, especially their European vacation.

Virginia was a fan of college basketball and professional baseball and seldom missed watching a game on TV. She was a former lioness with the Yellow Springs Lions Club. A dedicated volunteer, Virginia enjoyed 40 years of supporting the Frederick Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of Brook Hill United Methodist Church.

Her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Somerford House for the wonderful, loving care Virginia received over the past several years.

She is survived by her son, Marty Crabbs and wife, Jan, of Frederick; her daughter, Susan Buxbaum and husband, Randall, of Middletown; her brother, David Barr and wife, Agathe, of Michigan; eight grandchildren, Christopher Crabbs, Jennifer McKittrick, Ryan Crabbs, Chris Stoner, Chase Stoner, John Buxbaum, Colin Buxbaum, and Glen Buxbaum; two great-grandchildren, Ava and Jack McKittrick; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick with the family receiving friends from 12-1. Officiating will be Pastor Dana Werts.
